Hi, I have this problem which occurred after installing Windows 10 anniversary program where, if my PC freezes meaning I need to forcibly shut it down (using the reset button), when it boots up, it will not boot... it will show the windows flag and the loading symbol for hours but doesn't boot. I had to roll back the update and reinstall the older version of the update (1511). Once again, a few hours after install I had to cold reset because of something so I did so and it went into infinite boot. After a few more reinstalls of Windows, I found a temporary fix where if I reset 3 times in a row it would boot up in the Automatic Repair mode, and then I could go into safe boot menu and select Safe Boot. This worked a couple of times till I tried it and instead of booting up in Safe mode it would just instantly change to the black screen with Windows flag and not do anything. Then I reset to try the other options in Safe Boot menu such as with networking, this worked a few times till it also instantly changes to the black screen with the windows flag and nothing happens.
This has been a very big hassle as I have lost more than 200gb of work files and games. Hours on end trying to fix this has been lost. I have tried everything I possibly could, I couldn't find anything on google so this is my last resort.
I've got a USB with the Windows 10 installation. I used the command prompt on that to try some CHKDSK and SFC /SCANNOW but after a few hours of them scanning, no fixes. Neither with "Start up repair" or even system restore..
I run on a custom built rig.
