I can't get Windows to detect my G22 phone so I can transfer files to and from the phone. It works out of the box on Ubuntu and I can browse the phone and work with its storage like any other drive. But on Windows it just doesn't show up. I've even installed the driver from Motorola and still it doesn't show up as a drive. Unlikely it's a cable issue 'cos with the same cable it works on Ubuntu. So what else?

Do you get the USB tone when you plug in the cable ?

Yes, I think so I get that sound that plays when a device is connected. The phone is brand new (aka not second hand) and it's been just a few months since I bought it, and given that it works when connected to the laptop that runs Ubuntu 2020.04, I'd say there is some problem with Windows.
