Windows 10 downgrade then upgrade again

I upgraded my pc from windows 7 to windows 10 but i want to move windows to a external storage device. So can I move it to the storage device somehow or do I have to downgrade back to windows 7 then redo the the upgrade process but choose option that saves it to a external storage device? Are either of these possible and how do I do either?

If you want to move Windows to an external storage device it has to be plugged in to your computer via an eSATA cable. Windows will not boot externally from USB, only eSATA.

Easiest thing to do would be to physically remove the drive that currenly has Windows and plug it into an external docking station like this:
