Windows 10 endless nightmare help!

Guys I need help. So I built my gaming pc windows 10. But my pc had a bunch of BSOD. Also whenever windows had an update I would either restart or shut down to apply updates. But the pc would get stuck on restarting/shutting down this pc screen so I would force shutdown pc. When it boots up it would always restore my windows like update never happened. I was tired of all this so I went to Frys and bought a new windows 10 and a new hard drive. I installed everything like new. Well it comes to my surprise windows 10 still gets stuck on the same screens as before!! So in other words I can’t update . What’s going on?
