Hi,

Bought a ssd drive for my laptop, replaced the optical drive with it and installed windows 10 on it.
The I formated my HDD where I had the OS previously installed.
Now when I boot it gives me this error.

When I go to the command line it says x:/sources
Shouldnt it say x:/windows???

Thanks

Hello josecoito

Normally, the correct and most used process is to remove the HDD while installing Windows on an SSD. Failing to do so might store some files in the HDD which may cause some errors.

If possible, you can disconnect the HDD from the computer, perform a clean install of the operating system on the SSD, and then reconnect the HDD to the PC.

However, before you go for the above suggestion, can you please try using EasyBCD and see if this fixes the problem?

Feel free to report back if any further assistance is needed.

Cheers!! :)

Hi

I think it's fixed. Did bootrec /rebuildbcd and changed Launch PXE OpROM in the BIOS to Enabled and it appears to be ok.

The problem I have now is that when I boot the laptop it asks me to choose between 2 Windows 10 OS. Must have some files in the old HDD.
The old HDD has 4 partitions and I cant access 3 of them. Right click has no options availabel, except "Help".
