Hi there,

Whenever I go to log in to my computer (I am the only user of this computer), as it is signing in I get the Windows 10 error sound. Nothing pops up and the computer starts up as normal.

Update: I'm also randomly hearing the Windows 10 error sound every now and then, not just when logging in.

However, when I click Start Menu or Cortana, neither of them open.

I've tried restarting countless times and booting in safe mode and back to normal mode, but the same problem keeps happening.

Please help if possible, thankyou

Hello nonreg

The error sound may be because of any one or more than one issues with the services that run in the background. Since no display is there, the error(s) are unidentifiable. At this point, you can try Running the SFC /SCANNOW Command and let Windows detect and fix the issues automatically.

If that doesn't help, try Restoring Windows to an Earlier Date, i.e. when it worked fine.

Feel free to report back if further assistance is needed.

Cheers!! :)
