I recently assembled a samsung 960 evo 250GB in my laptop (acer v5-591G-58Z3) it works fine. I installed windows 10 on the ssd. After the installation my laptop freeze within 10 seconds. The only way it doesnt happen if i disable my nvidia geforce 950M. Is this a software or hardware problem? how can i fix this?

Hello again xxjeboixx

Can you please elaborate the result a bit more as in did Windows allow you to boot in Safe Mode and were you able to use the PC?

Also, can you please try removing the NVIDIA driver altogether and see if Windows remains stable after that. If so, please re-download the graphics driver from NVIDIA's official site and try installing it manually from the scratch.

Sometime, not the latest one but an older version of driver works great. You may want to give that a try as well.

Cheers!!

So the installation completed successfully? have you been past the welcome setup where it asks you to set location and other settings for windows?

I assume the machine posts and then attempts to load windows?

You say safe mode does not work? how can you disable the on geforce card? via the bios?

When i install windows 10 i have 30 min without freezing so i could setup windows. But within the 30 min had to install samsung evo drivers otherwise the it wouldnt make a difference to disabling my gpu. But now i have to go to safe mode and disable my gpu in device manager.

I cant do anything in my bios because i have almost no option to do so. Something else got my attention lately. When my pc froze my cpu cooler stopped spinning. So perhaps my bios is broken?

I already tried multiple times installing older version it doesnt seems to help. Even though one time my laptop froze after 10 min.

I dont know how to remove my gpu and actually dont want to remove it before i make the problem worse.
