[SOLVED] Windows 10 freeze on boot/loading, random freezes, boots 1 in 10/15 times or in safe mode

Hi,

Im running a pretty old system (around 9 years) (2600k, asrock z77 ex4, gtx 970) - I don't rule out a hardware failure (my bet is psu) but wanted to consult.

The PC is booting one in 10/15 times - it freezes at loading circle dots and then shuts down. It can boots in safe mode every time. I also do encounter random (cant stick it to any particular action, sometimes in game, some times opening app, sometimes just) freezes then shutdowns - but no BSODS

Did all stress tests for GPU, CPU, did memtest and stuff and scanned my ssd. No failures.

It tried unplugging all hdds, all usb, the PCIe Firewire extension, GPU, ran on one RAM dimm, changed it every boot - same
Also tried with fresh install on different SSD - problem persisted but less frequently. The only constant is mobo and psu.

It sometimes just shuts down when trying to auto repair.

Also I did enable windows boot log, and it shows THOUSAND of BOOTLOG_NOT_LOADED (many many maaany more than posted here)

Mobo failing? PSU dying? Any way to troubleshoot it further?

try another psu if you have one to get it out of the way first, might be an over heating problem whens the last time you applied new thermal paste

about 1 year ago. Temps idle 30- 35 full synthetic load mid 80s. Using NH D14. Ill try another PSU, but its werid it always boot in safe mode - isnt it?

yes it is but installing new software or drivers might be the problem causing crashes but safe mode is a safe way for windows to load when there is a critical system problem that interferes with the normal operating of windows, safe mod is for trouble shooting windows to find a problem

True, but the same issue is present with the totally fresh windows install on formatted disk. I also attached the windows bootlog - it shows abudant amount of notloaded drivers. Ill buy a new psu and will try
