Windows 10 freezes and screen goes black

So after the upgrade to win 10 I've been have an annoying problem, if my pc goes idle for a few hours the screen will go black and I can't do anything but a hard reset.
I looked in my event viewer and saw lots of errors so I just wiped the event log to start over and maybe find out whats going on.

I also ran a system scan in the command prompt to see if there were any errors but it found 0.

Any ideas??

Looks like the issue is due to the misconfigured (default) NIC. You can try the following:

> Right-click the Start button.

> Go to Computer Management.

> Once opened, from the left pane, click to select Device Manager.

> From the right pane, expand the Network adapters tree.

> Once expanded, right-click the available network adapter.

> Go to Properties from the context menu.

> On the NIC's properties box, go to the Power Management tab.

> Uncheck the Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power checkbox.

> Click OK.

> Perform the above action for all the available network adapters in your computer.

> Restart the PC when done.

So far so good! hasn't froze! So I think we are good ! thanks so much! If it does freeze ill report back again!

so it froze again this time in game. 🙁

Hello again joylessjokerman

If your computer froze while playing the game, the issue is not identical to the previous one, and requires a different treatment altogether. However, before going any further, I would suggest you to try playing the same game at least one more time and see if the freezing was random.

If the problem persists, you can try Managing the Virtual Memory of Your Computer and see if the issue is resolved.

i can not get the main windows screen to come up it is just stays on a black screen with the windows symbol and looks like it is trying to load but never does anything i have tried restarting the computer but it goes back to the black screen

I think I have killed my husbands computer!
