I am beginning to think that its just worth my time to switch back to my hard drive, starting to give up. This is my final push. At first I bought a PNY CS1311 120GB, installed Windows 10 Pro 64-bit. So I would install all of my drivers and small programs like Chrome and small games on the SSD and bigger things like Steam games and Battlefield on the hard drive. Then I switched to a Samsung 850 EVO 250GB to see if maybe a more reputable brand may help. Well it didn't. Same setup, same problems. I even installed the Samsung Magician thing and tried using my PC on all of the available settings (Performance, Reliability, etc.) Sometimes the PC will freeze while it is booting up, like right in between the BIOS screen and the Windows loading screen so I am basically left with a black screen. Other times it will freeze on the Windows lock screen. Sometimes it will freeze on my desktop or right when I open Chrome (which is on my SSD). When my computer freezes, the mouse and keyboard totally stop working. Even the CPU usage light on my case goes completely black. I have no other option but to press the reset button on the case, which I don't imagine is the healthiest thing for a computer. Other times I can use my computer just fine and nothing will go wrong. It's really chance whether my computer will successfully boot or not. I have tried turning TRIM off. That didn't work. I switched to IDE mode, that didn't work. I have done all I can to give the SSD as much power as it wants, that seems to have not helped. I have taken out my RAM and tried one stick at a time in different slots and that seems to have not worked, or maybe I have two broken sticks, I don't know at this point. I have even gone to the point of using different power outlets for my computer and monitor. Previously, I had my OS on the WD 1TB Black and everything worked fine. I upgraded to the ssd for faster boot speeds.
My rig is:
Motherboard: MSI 990FXA
CPU: FX-8370
Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 250GB, WD Black 1TB, some other random 500GB laptop hard drive for extra storage
RAM: PNY Anarchy 8GB DDR3 2133MHz in Dual Channel
Cooler: AMD Wraith stock cooler
OS: Windows 10 Pro 64-bit
Please send help.
UPDATE 3/30/17: I noticed that my computer started to perform really slow for a few seconds and nothing was loading. It wasn't frozen just going really slow. For example I was watching YouTube and the video wasn't loading. Not frozen because the loading circle was going. Then I noticed the mouse turned into the blue loading circle thing so I knew that the computer hadn't yet frozen. I quickly opened task manager and took a screenshot. I wish I could post it in here but it doesn't seem to work. Task Manager opened after about 10 seconds and showed that my CPU and all my disks (1, 2, and 3) had a huge spike in usage. Each going to about 100% then quickly subsiding. I don't know if this is relevant just thought you might want to know.
