Windows 10 freezes when trying to install it on a Hard drive

I downloaded the tool to download windows 10 on a usb stick on another computer and plugged it in the one l wanted to install windows 10. I went into the boot options and it gave me 4 usb boots. Usb hdd, usb zip, usb cdrom and one more i tried all of them and l never passed the windows logo and a black screen. Please Help

Which motherboard is it in question?
Usually when comes to older motherboards you have to go to hard disk something and make your USB as 1st boot priority (on my G31M).

Hmm, try to set lower ram speed if possible, which CPU and Ram you are having?

phenom 9750 and 6gb ddr2 my ram speed is 500 something

Any reason why you couldn't use a DVD-R disc with the Win10 ISo burned on it? I have never got the USB stick method to work.

yes i don't have any disks to burn it on

Oh l just found a windows 7 disk installation laying around in my cupboard and it worked.
