I have an Saitek Cyborg v.3 Rumble Gamepad (PC/PS3 dual cable)from I think 2012. It always worked well with emulators.

Now recently the D-pad under devices/printers shows it is 4-way, testing it only get to 4 directions. I can't manually calibrate as it is automatically set, each time I plug it in. (though it doesn't show up in printer/devices if I use my front USB ports).

Using the Saitek software program I am able to use 8-way (setting Q to up/left for example) and setting that up in the emulator as well. So the diagonal is working.

I have use the drivers&software from the Saitek site.

On another computer I got with win 10 it works fine and the 8-way works normal. On this PC it used to work back in 2018 properly. Something much have changed with windows calibration as the menu also looks different then it did back then.

Changing USB ports, uninstalling etc doesn't fix anything. Also the device works nothing wrong, just it is 4-way. The analog sticks do work in all directions as well in the tester. It seems just windows stubbornly keeps it 4-way. As mentioned before I can't manually calibrate it. However setting it to 8 Way (in the Saitek software) prevents me from testing the D pad the rest works fine.

Seems Windows mis-calibrates my D-pad to 4-way instead of 8 but I can manually change anything more...

Maybe anyone has any ideas? Thank, NJ.

EDIT: Just found out going to the effect page in the gamepad menu it just closes after a second, normally here I could test vibrations etc.

SOLVED! For Further Reference I solved the issue, by exploring the web thoroughly.

Deleting ffdriver64.dll, ffdriver32.dll and ffpage64.dll from /windows/System32 and windows/Syswow64 (there 4 of them). These are Jess Tech drivers meant for Force Feedback support and cause issues being outdated I suspect (they shows to be from 2002 and 2004 far before the gamepad even was made.

They came from downloading and force installing drivers from the Saitek website (I think they are win XP drivers from 2009).

If anyone has a Saitek Rumble pad (regardless of the type 3000, 2600, V.3) I read you can turn rumble support onxbox controller simulation program x360ce, if you want that. I personally do not find it much added value to have a vibrating...

After installing the Software profile editor of the Saitek Website I got 8-way working again. :) So all is fixed!
