I've updated to the creators update and well I'm not very pleased with it, in other area's I like how they changed it up a bit. Like they removed the option for the control panel so now you have to search for it with Cortana, anyway....
The new Windows 10 game mode, In my experience it been a bumpy road with it enabled, I play GTA5 quite a bit on my free time and I've been grinding missions for money, it gets rather boring so I normally throw up youtube or a stream on my other monitor and with Game mode enabled, the stutter and pauses in youtube are really bad, pretty much makes youtube unwatchable with hardware acceleration on or off, make no difference.
Turning game mode off everything on my 2nd monitor in smooth, and GTA5 I went from getting 60 - 70s to 110 - 120 in the spot I was sitting in, So it's off for that game lol.
Another game I've had issues with in PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, With game mode I swore it made the game smoother. Before the windows creators update I could just barely run it on the lowest settings and most of the time massive fps drops got me killed, after updating and enabling Game mode, I swore up and down that fixed the issues I was experiencing in that game. So the round I was in was slowly ending in one of the major towns and FPS was in the high 30s, starting to drive me nuts at that point as there were only like 15 players left, Thinking of GTA5 I changed the game to windowed mode and disabled Game mode, back to full screen and the game was upwards of 50 - 60fps.
Seems Game mode really messes with my system, and not in a good way.
How was your experience with game mode if you've tried it? Once my i5 mobile CPU comes in for my laptop I'll try Game Mode on it, right now the Celeron 1.6ghz dual core can't even run Diablo 3 so I'll have to wait.
