I've updated my Windows 10 laptop and it now goes to the log in screen when booting up instead of welcome screen where you click or press enter then the log in screen shows. I didn't set it to boot up to the log in screen, so I'd like to know if this is normal or ok?

You need to uncheck the "No GUI boot" box. Read the guide to know how to find it.

This didn’t work though. It only removed the loading wheel during start up.

It still automatically goes to the login screen.

It used to start up on the welcome screen like the image below

But now it skips the welcome screen and goes straight to the login screen. Like it automatically clicked or pressed enter

Found this guide on how to enable the Lock Screen,
link: https://www.thewindowsclub.com/disable-lock-screen-windows-8
Tried this and the difference is when I disable the lock screen using this method, it loads up the login screen as soon as it finished booting. It was not configured by default and when I disable it or set it to default, it still loads to the login screen but there is a millisecond pause where it transitions from the welcome screen to the login screen.

My other laptop doesn't do this though. It doesn't take a hit on performance. I just find it odd.

Could be hardware issue, whereby Win detects input signal and moves on from lock screen as soon as Win loads. E.g some phantom input from trackpad. Hard to say.
Clean Win install could help, if the issue is with Win.

Lock screen is optional and not needed at all though.

I've ran some quick tests and there doesn't seem to be any stuck keys on my keyboard, and I've tried disabling the onboard keyboard and trackpad but it still goes to the login screen after booting up. It doesn't do it when I lock my screen though. Only happens during boot up.

It doesn't hinder the performance though. It was just odd it started doing that after I updated last August 4th. Anyway, thank you for your assistance!

Figured out the problem. Battery was swollen and was pressing against the trackpad. It somehow activates scrolling during boot up causing windows to skip the Lock Screen and go directly to the Log In screen.

Replace the swollen battery ASAP.

So, trackpad was the main culprit after all. Makes sense, since it is activated by pressure (e.g touch) and it doesn't matter on which side the pressure comes from. It registers it regardless.
