I got this new PC on January. I haven't run into any problems until February when I was to install a Windows 10 update. But I have yet to have successfully install any of these updates. The only thing that I can think of that I haven't tried is to do something with the hard rives I have on my PC. When I first got this, there was a SSD along with the normal hard rive, and I had all of my default stuff go to my SSD, but I switched it all to go to my D drive which has a lot more space. I've looked around the forums and someone had this same problem. And someone told him it was because of something he did while switching hardrives. They never explained it any further so I'm lost. This might not even be the solution. I just want to fix this issue because it's making me want to pull my hair out.

Thanks!!

Okay bit befuddled by what you wrote here so I am going to summarize and think if I got the Gist;

Computer with SSD has Windows on SSD C:\
You follow directions to try and 'move stuff' like Windows to HDD D:\
Now it is broke.

So let me explain a few things (if I have this right) as you don't appear to understand some basic concepts. The SSD is VERY FAST drive, but is very expensive and doesn't hold much. It solves the problem for 'Windows' itself being slow, so we all normally install Windows to the SSD (C Drive) and leave it be.

But when we play games, or other programs that take ALOT of SPACE we need a larger HDD (Hard Drive) but they are SLOWER than a SSD for 'loading' the code to the other computer parts. But in games, except for 'loading screens' it doesn't matter if on HDD or SSD, the game 'speed' is still the same, so we MANUALLY tell the computer to install the games to the D Drive instead of C drive as it normally wants to (C is the main drive EVERYTHING supposed to install too you silly human! says the PC) .

What you did was completely mess this up and 'break' Windows. Now there may be more things 'borked' under the hood that you may not realize is also because of this, or will show up as you do XYZ next.

IMO I would use the RESTORE function to restore everything back to 'as you took it out of the box'. It has a option to KEEP your Data (Music, pics, videos, documents) but if you haven't "done much" on it yet, you might just want to let it do a full clean sweep.

Sorry that I didn't really explain my problem thoroughly. But you're right, that is my problem. I understand the point of the SSD and the HDD. This is just my first time using a SSD and it's a bit weird having two hardrives and sometimes I naturally go to my C drive even though there's only 100 GB of space in it.

Anyways I suppose I had some trouble trying to switch my default hard drive. I remember that being a mess and I probably messed up some stuff there.

I'll try your options though, thanks!!

Had same issue after installing ssd for my main drive, my problem was that I had changed my default program install location through the regedit.exe to my 2nd drive, once I changed back to default (C: ) the update finally worked.

It really don't. In fact every time I shutdown my computer then restart, it tries to install updates.. and fail.. and reboot.. 3 times ..
So, Yeah, Big issue here, I have 10 Pro BTW

A) Don't comment on a RESOLVED thread
B) Don't HIJACK a Original Poster (OP)'s thread for your use. Post a new thread with detail explanation of your computer, OS, steps taken etc. to get responses on.
C) Any number of things can cause or resolve it, simple GOOGLE searches of the key words (Windows 10 Pro Updates fail) will provide a WIDE range of results to investigate and see if some may resolve. It works really well, try it.
