Hi guys, so have been searching for a few days for a solution to this, but no avail. Hope you can help!
It's running a 'Gigabyte super 4 motherboard ultra durable series motherboard'.
(Sorry, not really sure about other details but if you need anything ask and I'll try find out)
Issue:
Had an old computer in my business running XP (don't ask). Basically the other day it wouldn't start up, it just kept opening up the motherboard screen at startup and looping without loading. It was long overdue, so decided to finally install windows 10. I actually managed to get XP up and running again by disabling something in bios settings that told windows to restart if it found errors (causing the loop). Unfortunately can't remember or find that setting again!
Basically got the USB running and windows installed then restarted. I was busy and thought it was done, so I pulled the USB. Now it's back to the same issue- keeps restarting after the motherboard screen.
I've tried to change all the settings like moving the usb to first priority (although not sure whether it should be USB - FDD, -HDD, -CD or -ZIP) , changing the device priority to usb, etc- nothing. Can't access F8 boot menu, only bios settings. If I press tab to "post screen", it just goes to a black screen for a second, then reboots. Can't get the USB installation to run at all. Have an XP installation CD I dusted off, also won't boot.
At this point I'm stuck, wondering if anyone has suggestions? Thanks very much
