Hi everyone,

I've 1 SSD and 2 WD Blues connected, After installing windows 10 on my SSD, I could only detect one of my WD blues in Disk Management however in Intel(R) Rapid Storage Technology, I could detect both WD's.

However, it shows that both my WD's statuses are fine in the device manager and shows up in my BIOS with no problems. I've also installed the SATA Drivers from my motherboard's Support Page.

So I decided to plug out my SSD and try each of my WD Blue one at a time at installing windows. The first WD was able to detect the drive, the second one could not be detected. I tried entering Windows repair > Diskpart > List Disk for the second one but no results were found.

Does that mean my second WD Blue is dead?

Not sure if you did this but when you do the installation on to the SSD you should disconnect all your other drives.

Once you have done the installation power off your PC, connect the other hard drives and then set the boot order.

If the drives are not detected after your boot into Windows go to disk management and make sure you have assigned drive letters to both your WD drives and that the space has been allocated.
YOu can try moving the SATA cable on your motherboard to a different socket. This often gets the drive to be detected.

Another issue is that you may have to allocate the drive space using disk management.

I've tried several ports but same result.

Allocation won't be a problem as this is a fresh install. I just not sure if either one of my blues is dead. I can feel the disk spinning up at boot.

I actually never thought of this. I'll go try it out and report back later!

What is the reason behind doing this?
