Hi all,

I've been searching all over for answers but I have yet found it.

I just upgraded all of my parts recently and this is my new build:

Intel i7700k 4.2ghz
Asus GTX 1070
Ballistix 16gb
Asus z270
Samsung EVO 850 500gb

All of these are new, including the SSD.

I put everything together and was able to get it started. One issue is that my tower's I/O button isn't turning the computer on, I had to push the power button on the motherboard. That's not the reason why I'm here though.

I bought the Windows 10 Pro disk and tried to boot from the drive but the Asus BIOS isn't booting it up.

It recognizes the CD/DVD drive, but even when I make it priority it won't boot the installation disc - just continues to bring me directly back to BIOS. I also disabled Secure Boot and still nothing.

Anyone here with a solution? I'm thinking of just creating a bootable USB drive but not sure if that'll work either..

Whenever I restart or boot override, it just goes to the Asus logo then BIOS settings. It never enters windows setup.

I'm going to try your suggestion and update.

It's the Prime z270-A.

To be honest I haven't checked to see if it's up to date. I put the computer together today and went straight to trying to install windows lol

There's only one BIOS update anyway 0701

Try the mediacreation tool then see if that works.

Download the ISO. Make sure you get / install the right version of the ISO

For the version you brought

use rufus to put it on a flash drive. Since the mobo has a UEFI BIOS select GPT as the partition type in rufus before you add the ISO, then click on start. Wait for it to finish. Reboot

Change the boot drive to the flash drive in the BIOS. Save settings / boot from it
