My motherboard: https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-B75M-D3H-rev-10#ov
BIOS version: American Megatrends Inc. F3 16/02/2012
As it is inferred on Gigabyte's website: https://www.gigabyte.com/MicroSite/381/w10.html, motherboards with B75 chipsets like mine are not optimized to run Windows 10. (B75 does not appear on the list)
It is in my interest to cleanly install Windows 10 on a new SSD with this motherboard and I am looking for the safest way to do so.
My questions are:
1. Is it absolutely necessary to update my BIOS and drivers in order to run Windows 10 with this motherboard?
2. If so, in what order do I update them? Do I firstly update BIOS, secondly install Windows 10, and thirdly install drivers? What is the safest way?
3. If so, for the BIOS, what method is recommended for a clean install? I'd prefer to not have to use a method that requires booting from my old HDD (like @BIOS) since it is old and could cause problems.
I have read about Q-Flash. If this is indeed the best method for me, since it can be done from the BIOS itself, please tell me if there is something else I need to know or be cautious about apart from what is said in this Gigabyte guide that I could follow during the update process: http://www.gigabyte.us/FileUpload/US/WebPage/20/images/utiltiy_qflash_uefi.pdf.
4. For the drivers, (I think I could download them from here: http://www.gigabyte.co.nz/Motherboard/GA-B75M-D3H-rev-11#support-dl) can I also use a flash drive to install them from the BIOS itself?
5. Would Windows 10 installed on the updated BIOS work efficiently enough without the updated drivers that It could give me a window where I can install the drivers after booting it?
Thank you for your time and effort. If there are more things I should be concerned about in this process please let me know.
