windows 10 installed with a local account

I installed windows 10 for a friend with a local account, now he can't sign up with a Microsoft Account. Please help. I have tried going to settings, accounts and when I click on get a Microsoft Account nothing happens.

As a result he can't go to the store, or use Edge.

sounds like your win 10 install is bugged. i'd say do a refresh with the keep files option. google how to refresh windows 10. you will lose any installed programs and settings within windows, but all files will still be in their respective folders.
