Question Windows 10 ISO download no longer available?

I wanted to download the Windows 10 installation ISO for archiving and perhaps also as an option in Ventoy. Google quickly turns it up as "Download Windows 10 Disc Image (ISO File)" but the linked MS page offers only an update and the installation media creator.

I suppose I could create an ISO from the installer media but I'd prefer a direct ISO download. Has MS removed the ISO download? Is there an official download link?

Windows 10's support runs aground towards the end of this year, you should migrate to Windows 11. That being said, the executable to create Windows 10's installation media is very simple and takes the guess work out of it if you were to do it with an ISO...as in you don't need a third party app after sourcing the ISO.

I know that. And my new build has 11. But as I said, I want 10 for archiving, for possible use in an old system that's not compatible with Win11 or for a feature specific to Windows 10.

MS is notorious for removing features that users of older OSes find useful. For example, I use MSPaint a lot, and while they added some useful features, they also removed others, like even numbered brush sizes. winhlp32.exe from XP is useful for viewing older Help files.

I still have Windows 98, Me, XP and 7. I may still have 3.11 and 95 if I dig for them. I have a Vista DVD that was presented to me by an MS MVP although I never used it. I still have most versions of Irfanview starting from over 25 years ago. Call it a quirk or OCD if you like 😉
