Major lag on nvidia cards in windows 10 trying to clone. I have an EVGA 980 Ti

I came from windows 7 where my Avermedia Gamer Capture Card C985, worked perfect when I cloned my VG248QE (144Hz) with the card itself.

Then another PC would pick that up via HDMI and stream on Xsplit.

Now when I clone the capture card and latest Nvidia driver, it has major lag, like 60hz refresh rate almost. Before it was 144 perfect no problem. What is the issue now??

Check in nvidia panel to have primary gpu EVGA 980 Ti , and in control panel go to power options and set to high performance and reboot.
And check all apps to use the nvidia gpu.
Good luck .

is this just not possible in windows 8+? It seems capture cards with cloning locks up at 60hz. In windows 7, this would allow the full 144hz. anyway to get pst this? I tried your way it didnt work rubiniwa

Hi,

Thank you for using this website. We'll surely assist you regarding Windows 10 major lags/ freezes.

In regards to your question, it seems that a tons of services are running in background. Create a new services profile with minimal services. To do so, follow the steps in this article and then choose an option named "Gaming Computer (Extreme Performance)" services profile. This shall help to speed up Windows 10 and stop frequent lags.

Besides, adjust system performance for better performance instead of better appearance. To do so, follow the steps given under:

1. Right click "This PC" desktop icon and open up Properties > Adjust system settings.
2. Click Advanced > Settings (Performance) > Visual Effects.
3. Choose the option for better performance; and then save your changes, exit.
