Hi I have an asus n53j Q(I think) laptop, which was working perfectly fine until... My computer tried to automatically update to windows 10. The update froze in the second phase and I got a machine check error which also froze. After restoring 8.1 my computer now has this "click click" noise on startup and freezes 80% of the time before loading. And if it does load it will freeze before I can do anything. Oddly enough it works about 1/10 times and doesn't freeze for as long as I use it. However as soon as it goes into sleep or shuts down etc it repeats the same process and I have to gamble with it until it wants to work again. I have ran a disk check and got zero errors, I have tried little registry cleaner, and I know longer have the windows disc for a clean reinstall and nor and I buying one when their dmn update is what screwed it in the first place. I'm under the impression that I will need a hard drive replacement and that absolutely ticks me off. Can I get you guys opinion on the matter? Thanks a bunch.

Roll it back to when Windows worked if you can replace the hdd Or format the hdd then reinstall a clean copy of Windows it may workw

When windows 10 fails to upgrade it autmatically restores it to your previous version which in my case is 8.1. I tried to do a system restore to the only point I had and it didn't work, so I did a system reset and that also didn't work.

by that you mean you reinstall Windows?
