windows 10 key product

Hello guys
I bought a new laptop with windows 10 for my siister. i would like to ask you, should i register my product to microsoft making an account (if i have this option) coz if something goes wrong and i have to format it in the future i dont know where to find the key product.. when i go pc- properties, to the information i see a key number(i write it somewhere) but i am not sure if is this i need.
can someone help.

If you link the setup to a Microsoft Account , no key is needed in the future , you can activate with the account.

Sounds stupid but is there any guide how to doit ? i never used official windows to my pc's its the first time.

This is the whole process , watch the 2nd video.

Setup a Microsoft Account and link your current PC to it , then backup whatever you want to save and perform a clean install on your new setup and activate it with your Microsoft account from within windows. Skip the key entry during setup and activate it from within windows with the registered Microsoft Account.
