Hello,

I am currently running into an issue that my icons auto-arrange. I currently have them in a logical flow that I prefer. However, it appears that when I restart my computer or it goes to sleep it arranges the icons itself removing my preferred arrangement. How do I get them to stay where I place them?

A few things to note:

1. Auto-arrange is turned off (I do not want this. I want to place them where I want them).
2. This has nothing to do with connecting my computer to a monitor. It appears that it occurs when the computer goes to sleep mode, or if I restart my machine.

My computer is the Surface Pro 4 with Windows 10.

Thanks,

Robert

Solution
Hello robertsru2006

According to the discussion in this thread, the issue started after a few Windows Updates. I would suggest you to check your computer for any of the given updates and remove them and see if the issue is resolved.

In the same thread, some people solved the issue by performing a clean Windows 10 installation. However, in your case, if the above solution fails, I would suggest you to first try Restoring Your Windows to the Time When Your PC Worked Fine. If this doesn't work, try Resetting Windows to Factory Defaults with or without removing your files.

If everything fails, you can then try Performing a Clean Windows 10 Install.

Feel free to report back if further...
