For some reason my Windows 10 install has stopped returning to the lock screen after you press a key to show the login box and then let it sit idle for a few seconds, this was working fine until yesterday when it decided to stop and now after pressing a key it just sits at the login box. I can login to windows fine but would prefer it returned to lockscreen so it can show the slideshow. I have tried the IdleTimeOut LogonUI registry trick but that doesn't seem to have done anything.

Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

Does this work? some of the menus may have changed since MS have integrated power settings into the main settings app. This shows control panel - https://www.howtogeek.com/267893/ho...t Plan Settings, however many minutes you want.

have you tried adjusting screensaver settings?
not sure if the above is just for desktop or if it applies to the logon screen.

my monitor turns off if i don't logon right away, i had never waited around on logon screen to notice it changed if you didn't logon right away.
