Windows 10: m5a78l-m lx plus RAM reserved

Hi,

I have a m5a78l-m lx plus and upgraded it to Windows 10 without knowing this mofo is not supported.

I have two 8gb RAM installed, and now it says 16GB (3.98GB Usable). I checked Task Manager and 12gb is being reserved for hardware.

I've tried unchecking the box under msconfig and other options with no luck.

Is this due to I upgrade the system to Windows 10, and there is no way to get the rest of RAM released?

Your motherboard will probably not work with Windows 10. Asus offers no driver support for this motherboard beyond Windows 8.1. If i were you i would go back to the previous operating system.

Hi. Right now I’m using the same mobo with 8gb (8gb usable) on win 10 64bit. What win 10 version you are using?

Hey xattica,

I used this motherboard in my nephews PC build and when I put Windows 10 on it I could not find the right chip-set drivers even from AMD official site, also when I had Windows 10 on it the Display Resolution would never go to 1920x1080 which is what my monitor was, it was always lower and made it look bad.
Once I installed Windows 7 and installed the drivers from the ASUS website for the M5A78L-M PLUS/USB3 everything started to work perfect.

How did you install your Chip-set drivers and everything else so it runs correctly? especially having it utilize all the RAM that is installed?
