Windows 10 magically using 12+GB RAM

Are you folding in the background? Sounds like you have an app running in the background that's pretty intensive. The only other thing I could think of would be some sort of virus but not as likely as the background program running in the background.

What is folding? and i dont think its any of my apps as all of the ones i intentionally have open show up in task manager and the 12 or so gb ram are not consumed by my user.

Folding @ home by stanford university. It uses your cpu and/or your video card to its max capability while youre in idle mode. If you have installed a program that may be working in the background, this can cause your system resources to get used up until you begin doing something else then the program is supposed to let your system use what it needs to get the task done without having to stop the background app.

Do you have an active antivirus program on your pc? If so, update and run a scan to see if it picks up anything. If you dont have malwarebytes installed, go download the free trial, update and run that too.

Download Process explorer and run it as admin (it comes from Microsoft so its safe)

the default view is tree structure meaning like your task manager screen, it will show what processes are under each service, but unlike task manager, it shows the ram usage of each part so you can see what is eating your ram

Private bytes = actual ram usage
Working set = Ram + page file usage

This page shows what all the colours and headings mean, link at bottom of it shows how to use it to find problems. You can right click headers and run an av scan from within the program.

you might have a memory leak in a driver

I was going to blame previously closed programs but you only have 232mb compressed so its not that.

What does it look like if you close Chrome as its using a lot there - sort resource monitor by private bytes as that is actual ram usage

According to task manager, its uptime is currently 7days and 14h but still, nowhere near as long as i have had my computer run without restart and allso i cant see that as reason for windows to use allmost 14gb ram and not say anything about it.

Just finished a full malwarebytes scan, nothing was found and i dont have any folding programs.

I can see chrome using alot, but im ok with that, problem is, where is rest of it going, https://gyazo.com/13398f39821b19696fad39c5802ee2ae

How could i find out if its a driver memory leak, and how to fix it?

KaarelRh, I asked because memory usage and release over time can indicate a memory leak issue. Stopping chrome instances (to make the list easier/less lengthy) to read and putting up a list of current drivers and services may prove helpful. My 1st thought is an update breaking how KillerNetwork is running on your computer.

Can you find drivers only for your Killer network? Recommended to disable everything related to the networkmanager.exe and run the bare drivers only.

The Dragon Gaming Center also seems to cause high activity with Microsoft Compatibility Telemetry, and recommended to disable the telemetry.
