so how they will end mainstream support in 2020 and extended support in 2025 ?

Well, 4 years (and 9 years) before that happens it's kinda difficult to say what MS will do. They'll either follow Apple's way of supporting a desktop OS and release new versions of Windows 10, or they'll release a new OS. Either way, the world is so dependent on the Windows platform that Microsoft simply can't stop. Heck, maybe they'll replace Windows with a whole new OS.

They'll release the update to the Windows 10, just like Google Does with the Android (Lollipop 5.0 and 5.1). There may be another operating system with a new name and new numbering system. Bill Gates and Microsoft Team must have some solid action plans on their future operations.
