Hello, I recently had an issue with my computer that required a clean install of Windows 10, I used Microsoft's Media Creation Tool to put a copy of Windows 10 onto my 1TB Toshiba Hard Drive. But once I had finished installing Windows 10 on my broken Computer not only was one of my computer's internal 1TB Disks reduced to 465GB But the external hard drive had been reduced to 31.9GB.

Are the files on my external hard drive still there? And where has my hard drive space gone? Can I get it back? I can live with my internal 1TB Being reduced but I had Tons of important files stored on that external hard drive. I'd really appreciate it if someone could help me out here because im worried sick that my files are gone.

On the download page for the MediaCreation tool, and while you are using it...it specifically tells you it will wipe out what is on the drive.

Your only recourse now is something like TestDisk

Huh..Well I guess that ones on me for rushing to reinstall Windows, you think the drives missing space can still be recovered though?

What are model names of your drives?
Because there is 500GB drive and 32GB drive, but no sign of 1TB that you' re talking about.
Also windows is installed on 32GB drive and 500GB drive contains ~11GB of data on it.

My 500GB Drive was 1TB, since I reset my laptop, is it possible that the disk drive went half faulty someone during the reset so theres no proof that the drive was ever 1TB? Or is there something Windows can do to detect faulty hard disk?

Also, how do I check what the Model Name of my drives are? I`m not really sure how to do that

Open it up and look at the physical label on each drive.

Your description, and the image, are both conflicting and confusing.
What is the laptop make/model?
