So basically I upgraded my windows 7 pro to windows 10 and everything opens slowly. I don't notice any speed issues in an application (game, web browser, publisher, etc...) when I'm already in it but it takes a long time for the applications to open, much longer than windows 7. Also browsing for files and just using the file manager in general is very slow. Also about every few hours windows 10 informs me that I just plugged in my microphone despite the fact that it is always plugged in. I did not have this issue in windows 7 and my first thought was maybe my microphone was having an issue so I purchased another one and the same thing happens. I also used the same microphone on my other pc running windows 7 and had no issues.
My PC specs are as follows:

AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition Deneb 3.4GHz Quad-Core running at 4.7Ghz O.C.
Asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0
GeForce GTX 980 Ti
Corsair Vengeance 32GB (4x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz running at 2166MHz O.C.
4x Western Digital Black WD2002FAEX 2TB 7200 RPM
Antec TruePower Quattro 850W Semi-Modular PSU

Hi,

Please do try these troubleshooting steps that may help in solving the issue.
- Start by running Windows Update and install all the updates available.
- Next is to uninstall/reinstall the Sound card driver.
- Go to Device Manager and uninstall the Sound driver.
- Once uninstalled, download and install the latest driver from the manufacturer site.

- Once installed reboot your PC for all the changes to take effect.
- After the reboot do test it again and see if the same problem will persist or not.

For added support for USB devices I would suggest installing this latest BIOS version for the motherboard.

It's b/c 10 is buggy garbage. Ive been 'using' it since alpha. MS even recommend you move important stuff to a 2nd hdd and use the reset/refresh feature to erase everything.

Edit: I should mention I've had various upgrade issues from corruptions, to missing drivers(wifi, gpu, even ahci) it even disabled screen brightness adjustment and laptop shortcut keys. Most recently my gf's pc started randomly flashing blank screens so I moved files games etc and reset it. No problems for 3 months.
