Question Windows 10 Microphone problem

Hello, I used to have no problems with my microphone. I am using a soundcard FocusRite Scarlett 2i2 and an XLR Microphone.

Recently I've been having issues with using voice-chat in all games. My audio-in drivers are found and I've disabled every other Audio-in except for the Focusrite (MY Microphone).
Example, if launch a steam game my microphone drivers will be found but there will be no audio coming from it. However, if speak to friends on Discord or other VOIP softwares this works fine.

I was hoping someone could give me a hand? I've been googling all night and I've uninstalled latest windows patches to try and fix the problem.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Best Regards, Kong.

I've dealt with possibly this problem a fair few times now.

What version of windows are you using?

Uninstalling the updates won't fix the mic driver untill it's reinstalled as well, but it is due to the last Windows 10 update

The solution was to uninstall the MIC driver, restart and let the plug N play driver reinstall itself.

100% success rate so far
