Windows 10 minimizing games on its own.

This isnt a huge issue or anything, its just annoying me as it happens to every game. When i first launch a game and for instance click "connect" or the game loads up, for some reason windows will minimize the game, not just shut it down or anything just minimizes it. Is there anything that can be done to stop that?

Solution
you can install a free antivirus program like avast from the web. selecting 'gaming mode' in the options it provides will force anything not your current screen (your game) to be hidden behind and not close/appear on top.
run game in highest priority
a program you use on desktop has 'on top' priority > disable
turn on avast gaming mode or equiv.

check runing resolution for desktop and game matching ... sometimes having a 1080 desktop and a different resolution for game will make windows spaz and not know what gpu to use (defaulting to intel and desktop).
check your game appears in nvidias control panel for game rendering (eg pc will use the gforce to render, not intels gpu). and check for updates to gpu driver.

I dont run anything intel related in the pc at the moment, its amd / nvidia. Its alot of games ranging from World of Warships to Player unknowns battlegrounds. It loads up, but the second i do anything it minimizes it, or if the game does anything after it first boots it will minimize.

ever since windows 7, the desktop has an issue with games in full screen actually not being full screen. taskbar/ icons / other desktop artifacts invisibly ontop of your game ... and microsoft refuse to admit they have f'd up for 6 years (well maybe they admit it now but its taken 6 years). sure it only affects a few people, but those people get rudely dismissed by others that are unwilling to believe. - i hope this isnt what you got. - eg doing anything makes windows think youre trying to use a desktop artifact and so minimises to desktop.

also av / superantispyware (better than malwarebytes) / spybot / etc just incase you got a key hook on your system.

but please do check to see if its a 'toast' thats doing this to you. hence why i said use antivirus gaming/silent mode by avg/avast which will force the game into real fullscreen and ignore toasts (also putting them behind the game so you never see them ontop). normally its a network or antivirus toast that will minimise programs and return you to desktop (for obvious reason that you need to be aware of something dodgy).

Im confused as to how to do what you stated? the only anti virus i have is defender "comes with windows 10" most of the things i have on my pc are just stock apps and such + my games.

To fix this:
1. Open Task scheduler
2. look in left column and Select the little arrow next to Task Scheduler library - this should reveal the layers below it.
3. Click little arrow next to Microsoft Folder
Click little arrow next to Office and in the right column, search for OfficeBackgroundTaskHandlerRegistration task and disable it.
IN some cases it helps to disable OfficeBackgroundTaskHandlerLogon as well
