Windows 10 mouse lag driving me insane!!!

Never had a problem with mouse lag in Windows 7. Now, on the same system with Windows 10 I have incredible mouse lag that makes it hard to work efficiently.

I try to grab a folder and move it to another window...it'll lag, stop, or stutter during the move and drop the folder somewhere random in the file tree. This happens all the time. It's like the mouse freezes or stutters for a millisecond. Same thing happens in programs like Premiere Pro. I have to slow down my movements in order to accommodate this horrible stuttering.

I've done everything that's been recommended in all the forums and tech articles. I'm coming here as a last resort before I commit seppuku. Does anyone have any solutions to this...please help!

It would be very useful for you to say exactly what you have already tried

I do have to ask though; have you tried a clean install?

I imagine u started with:

The only one thing to start with is...
Replace the mouse and see if replacement lags too. (Use any mouse just a mouse.) And try different USB ports with all mice u try, too.

Next, is if the problem continues to exists on two or more different mice and on multiple USB ports, then feel relieved. Because it may very likely be caused by software (including OS). And problem solving the software on ur PC is easier than a failed MOBO.

Try Safe-mode to see if Lag exists. And in normal mode try checking device manager and uninstalling all mouse drivers and reinstalling them. But be sure u know how to navigate with only a keyboard, just in case. Most importantly is how to restart without a mouse.

Like Gallarian mentioned, re-installing ur OS could be recommend too, after more info.
