Hi,
I have a Windows 8.1 Tablet, running the full Windows 8.1, anyway, it upgraded to Windows 10, but when I did, Windows 10 became unactivated, it was activated when it ran Windows 8.1, but now, it upgraded, it is unactivated, any help would be great!
Thanks,

I had reserved my upgrade, and windows came up with a popup saying, your upgrade is ready to install, and I inatalled it, following the prompts.

The activation should happen right away, so if it's failing, try the Phone activation method. You can find out what number to call by right clicking the Start button > Run (or hit Win + R) and type:

slui.exe 4

Pick your country from the drop down list and follow the phone prompts once you call.

OK...just checking. There have been many, many weird attempts at upgrading to Win 10, that go horribly wrong.

I didnt use my MS account either when I upgraded. I've never really used it in Win8 or 10.

When I upgraded I did a clean install, but the windows.old folder was still there. I couldn't delete it and I couldn't delete it with disk cleanup. It wasnt there

So wiped the whole hdd (C). Then went to Go to store. As soon as I did that, it said it was activated

I did 'Upgrade this PC'
I followed the Prompts,
And at the end, when I was on my desktop, It came up with Your PC is not activated.

Some people clicked on activate a few 100 times that fixed the activation lol

I was ready to chuck this out the window, because it wouldnt activate. Then I read online you could use a generic key to activate the stupid thing. So I did and it worked

This key is a generic key VK7JG-NPHTM-C97JM-9MPGT-3V66T change the key thats there to this see if it activates. This is for Pro

Most people used it and a forum I checked the other day said MS said to change it to this key to activate it, if you upgraded

that didn't work sorry

This worked!!!!! for me Awesome thank you
