Hello, I just upgraded a few parts on my PC, including the motherboard and several other minor things. Then I wiped my hard drive and was going to redownload from flash drive. But once I got everything up and running, Windows is not activated. Does anyone know what I could do to not have to purchase another copy?

Solution
Prior to the update, you should have assigned your Windows license to a Microsoft account. This ties the license to the account and not any particular hardware; allowing you to upgrade as needed.

To activate Windows, you will need to contact Microsoft.

Ok, yeah I was looking at options of how to get Windows for free through elevated command prompt and stuff. I think I'm going to have to go for that. Not going to spend 100 something dollars for Windows through Microsoft.

Yeah, I realized this too late, once I have moved all the parts over.
