So have an odd optical drive related issue and I'm not sure if it's Windows 10 or my Blu-ray drive. I've got an "LG Super Multi Blue Internal SATA 16x Blu-ray Disc Rewriter OEM" I installed in my Windows 10 machine back when I built it. So far it's worked fine. No complaints but one. I was hoping someone might be able to help me figure out what's wrong.
If I boot up windows, I can see the optical drive on "this PC". But if I then insert any type of disc, I can hear it spin up, but Windows pretends nothing's in there. The only way Windows 10 detects the disc is if I have inserted it into the drive at some point before Windows boots up. So during BIOS loading, or if I leave it in the drive and restart the system, or even when it's just the black screen with the Windows logo. And once Windows 10 acknowledges that there's a disc in there, everything works just fine. I can even pop the disc out and put another in and everything works just the way it should.
