I want to install Windows 10 on my Toshiba NB100 notebook
specs:
Intel Atom CPU 1.6 GHz 1 core (hyperthreading doesn't work for some reason)
1GB ram
Integrated Intel GMA 950

For some reason it became REALLY slow recently and reinstalled windows XP but im tired of that old look and lack of support so i want Windows 10.

I am concerned that there might not be some drivers like for the GPU
Also, i have seen on videos that it can run really nice on a very old notebook
So... what do you think? Will it work with good performance for web browsing, watching videos/movies etc. casual stuff in general

Solution
I have a Toshiba laptop from 2009, Celeron 2.2 GHz, 2GB RAM
Win 10 Pro works just fine. No faster or slower than Win 7 or 8.1 on that same system.

I have a recent Asus Transformer, 1.33 Atom with 2GB RAM
Win 10 Home runs just fine.

For your use, it will work.
I doubt it'll be good for watching Videos/Movies. The processor isn't beefy enough.

Web browsing will be fine, Though see if you can upgrade to 2GB at least. 4GB is optimum for what you are using it for.

though remember Harddrive life times are only 4-5 years. So if the computer is still rocking the original drive you'll have to replace that as well. Usually the first sign of a failing drive is slowness.

Drivers are hit and miss when it comes to older hardware, try and see if the basic drivers that come with Win 10 work.

According to another source your laptop should work fine with Windows 10. The only thing would be to upgrade your RAM if possible to the max your laptop can support.

If you're just going to be browsing or watching videos it should perform OK

As for laptop speed with Windows 10 it should run fast, I have an old Sony Vaio vgn-fw235d which is 1 year older than your laptop, and it went from Win Vista to Win 7 to Win 10 on it. It runs wayyy faster than it ever has and I had no problems except for a weird issue where the left speaker didn't work on the laptop. But I'm not sure if this was caused by the new driver or just age since I've pretty much always used headphones.

Hope this Helps!

I've used Windows 7 on a similar spec'd netbook (atom 1.6 N270 but with 2GB of RAM) and it worked good for browsing. As USAFRet said, there is no performance difference between win 7 and 10, so I suspect that will be good for light use.
I really suggest to upgrade to the max RAM (2GB DDR2) and if you can afford, a small and cheap SSD.

Thanks a lot everyone! I cant even choose the best reply because they are all great lol.
The laptop is still with its very first HDD and I still haven't noticed problems.. Also the other HDD I have is completely failed (everything I try to read/write gets corrupted and the computer is freezing so I will stick with the old one.
Also not planning to spend money on buying parts for this pc because I'm currently saving money to build a gaming rig.
I'll see how its going to work on stock specs.
Thanks again :)
