Windows 10 or Windows 7 good for gaming in a potato laptop?

I have a laptop. Model is Acer Aspire E1-531. I mostly do gaming on it. It’s incredibly slow on windows 10. Should I reinstall windows 7 or should i reinstall windows 10? I haven’t reinstalled a OS in a while. Maybe there are viruses in the laptop. What should i do? Windows 7 or Windows 10? Please help guys

The gpu of this laptop is pretty old. It says Intel HD Family. Ram is 4GB and Processor is Intel B960.

Either OS won't make any real difference.

1. Virus.
2. It is simply a slow laptop.

The memory usage is about 85% all the time when i check the task manager. And the disk usage is 100% when i check task manager. Can’t find what uses that much on task manager.

The B960 CPU and 4GB RAM and the integrated graphics are your limiting factor(s).
Not the OS.

Even on the lowest settings + some tweaks i cant even get a stable 30 fps on dota 2. Even sometimes garry’s mod becomes laggy. Will a fresh install of windows will fix it?

You need a new laptop.
A new OS install can't hurt, but your hardware is still severely lacking.

I don’t have money to buy a new laptop neither pc. Only thing i can do is upgrading this laptop which I can’t. If I can get 30 fps on dota which is enough for me. For my specs what OS will give me better fps. 1-5 fps is a huge difference for me.

Did it originally come with Win 10?
If so, then a clean install of that. Not just "refresh"...but rather a full wipe and reinstall.

If it came with Win 10, unlikely that there are Win 7 drivers for it.

Nope. It didn’t came with win 10. It came with win 7 as i remember.

Then return it back to the factory Win 7 if you can.
That won't change the substandard hardware, but it won't make it worse.

What did it come with originally?
Is the Factory Reset partition still in there?

64bit
And Win 7 Ultimate is not the one you want. Win 7 Home, which is almost certainly what it came with.

Changing back to Win 7 will not change anything.

But...open up Disk Management. If that partition still exists, it will be shown in there.
