my family HP Pavilion P6000 series desktop pc has stopped working since it tried to restart during an update (we're not sure but we believe it was a driver update, no clue on what driver though).
it boots up as normal (the windows symbol comes up) and then says that the computer has a problem and needs to restart, the automatic repair screen comes up and then it goes to the choose keyboard layout interface but when it comes to this screen the computer doesn't let us input anything. I had a Logitech gaming keyboard plugged in with backlighting and it just turns off so the USB port isn't letting any power out or taking any signal. we are able to use the keyboard to enter the BIOS and move around that but haven't done anything as we don't want to mess it up any further. we have also used a USB - Bluetooth keyboard and had the same problems.
we have upgraded the graphics card to a NVIDIA GeForce 600 something and added an ssd. our main goal is to get all of our files and photos off the computer as we haven't backed them up.
we'd really appreciate the help if anyone would take the time to respond with a solution
