Is the windows 10 product key embedded in my motherboard? It's not embedded/linked to my specific ISO USB installer, is it?

Solution

Yes, that should be fine. Remember that using a USB Windows installer will wipe everything on that USB, so if there are any files on the smaller USB that you want to keep, make sure to move them over to another USB drive or computer before you turn it into a USB...
If it is an OEM key, I believe it is linked to the motherboard.

No, it is not linked to your USB installer, meaning that you could use the installer on more than one PC. You can install Windows in whichever way you like, so long as you have a valid product key.

Hope this helps :)

It kinda does. So just to clarify, if I install a second installer onto a smaller USB (for my own purposes, like being able to use the bigger USB for work) it should go over smoothly.

Technically Windows 10 doesn't a Key and that why you have to do an upgrade from Windows 7 or 8.1. In the process of the upgrade it activates Windows 10 after it verifies you Windows is authentic. Then it generates a has number based on you hardware and store it on a MS server.

I upgraded from Windows 8.1 Single Language (Came with my laptop) to Windows 10. So now I own Windows 10, but my question is how can I find & save the Windows 10 Product Key? In case I've to do a fresh installation of Windows 10 after July 29, 2016, how can I do so?

Even if I install Windows 8.1, I can't upgrade to Windows 10 again after July 29, 2016. What's the solution then?

There is no product key. Just download the ISO from the create media app downloaded from Microsoft. When you run the create media app it will prompt you to make a ISO or upgrade. Select make ISO and you can either uncompress it to a Flash drive or a DVD. When you did the upgrade Windows 10 was activated and your information need for a clean install was saved to Microsoft's server. You can no do a clean install anytime you wish after June 29th 2016 or now. MS did it this way so you don't have to enter a key. This will only work on the machine you upgraded because the hardware info from that PC is on MS servers.

Sounds perfect.

By the way, is there a way we can check our device entitlement status on microsoft?

Thanks.

Well the problem is MS isn't really clear about switching out devices constitute a new machine. Most of time its the motherboard but most of the time you change processors it requires a new mobo. So you can be sure if you have the same hardware as when you did the upgrade you can do a clean install every say if you want to.
