My PS/2 Mouse can't be detected properly. When I attach it, even I restarted the pc, the cursor won't appear but there's red light under the mouse indicating that it should be working. But when i attached a usb mouse, the cursor instantly showed up. I looked at the device manager and find that in my keyboard tab, there is a "standard ps/2 driver" but in the mouse tab it only shows HID

Question from jminciong1 : "Usb mouse works but the ps/2 doesn't"

My PS/2 Mouse can't be detected properly. When I attach it, even I restarted the pc, the cursor won't appear but there's red light under the mouse indicating that it should be working. But when i attached a usb mouse, the cursor instantly showed up. I looked at the device manager and find that in my keyboard tab, there is a "standard ps/2 driver" but in the mouse tab it only shows HID Compliant.

Hi, i have the same prob here too, do you fix it? and plz how lol! thx

Windows 8 & 10 do not do a true poweroff when you shutdown. Instead they go into a hybrid-sleep state so you can fast boot right back up.
Shift-shutdown tells the system to do a full shutdown instead of hybrid sleep.
