Windows 10 refuses to boot, many fixes already tried

Greetings everyone. First of all, thanks for taking the time to stop by and maybe help me out here. I've already tried everything I can think of to fix this issue, and I've searched the forums here extensively - nothing I've found has worked. I apologize if this exact issue is already asked and solved elsewhere, I wasn't able to find it. Technical specs/dxdiag/etc. is included at the end of this post.

Last night I was using my computer normally, no problems at all, I shut it down and went to bed. This morning upon turning it on I get nothing but a black screen with "Please insert proper boot device and restart." The hard drive is recognized and present in BIOS but doesn't boot.

Things I have already tried:

Booting from Win10 recovery cd. Every single option the cd offers doesn't work.
- Can't recover/repair because "the drive windows is installed on is locked." Following the steps given to unlock it does nothing.
- Can't roll back to previous build or use system restore, both produce a message of "please restart and do this once you're logged in to Windows." Seriously? Good job Microsoft.
- Can't reinstall from ISO, not detected.
- Can't start in safe mode, same error.

On these forums, I found several posts from users recommending launching the command prompt and using the bootrec utility to repair the boot partition. I did this, and it appears to have succeeded, but has not solved the problem. Bootrec says it detects a current and valid windows installation on the appropriate drive, but still won't boot from it.

I've double, triple and quadruple checked all SATA cables, power cables and everything else in the tower. I'm thoroughly positive it is not a hardware issue. The drive win10 is installed on is recognized (more on that in a moment).



At this time, I'm logged into windows on the same computer under a new account I made by making a fresh win10 install to a different hard drive. I'm at least able to access the internet, but all my settings and data (which is an absolute ton of stuff I'm not willing to lose if I don't absolutely have to) is under my "old" windows installation, which I can't access.

How did you try to reinstall from ISO? What do you mean, did you burn it to DVD or USB?

Locked drives won't let you run reset, its fun like that.

Try this:

note: remove other ssd while doing this as don't want to break current install

(I don't know what recover drive includes so you may need this: Download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB)

boot from installer, on 2nd screen after languages, choose repair this PC, not install
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose command prompt
follow this and try step 3: http://www.thewindowsclub.com/the-drive-where-windows-is-installed-is-locked

step 1 may do it too.

Tried all of that, no dice. Thank you anyway for the suggestions, I will burn some incense in your name and wash your car. I decided to just totally delete, format and reinstall everything. I'm back up and running now, about to begin the long, long, tedious process of reinstalling all my programs and moving all my important files over from backups.
