Desktop Windows 10 keeps failing to complete the reset program. Gets all the way through removing programs but then fails when trying to reload fresh Windows 10. I can get into Safe Mode. It also fails to repair the b o o t r e s . d l l.

From the SrtTrail report:
Root cause found: ---------------------------Boot critical file h:\boot\resources\custom\bootres.dll is corrupt.
Repair action: File repair Result: Failed. Error code = 0x2 Time taken = 1282 ms
Repair action: System files integrity check and repair Result: Failed. Error code = 0x490 Time taken = 40643

I somehow think these issues (failed reset & corrupt bootres.dll) are connected. I used a boot disk to get this far. Not sure what exactly is on that boot disk but if bootres.dll is part of it, then I think it got corrupted also at a point of second crash - see below History.

History: Playing WOW. Game crashes, shuts down Windows, tries to reload fails. Used boot disk, and use Windows reset with files, download new game, log in - crash. Try to use Programs & features to uninstall both WoW & Bliz interface - both fail. Neither can I download either program. I was able to use the P&F do uninstall other programs.

How does one get a fresh boot disk at this point?

Bliz technical support says it cannot help, it's beyond their expertise (does their expertise extend past doing a copy & paste from support pages?) (social comment & rhetorical question).

Are their any other options in repairing the Bootres.dll file?

Is the boot disk a windows installer? If so, On another PC, download the Windows 10 media creation tool and use it to make a win 10 installer on USB

Which type of reset were you trying? keep files/settings or wipe it all? often I find only answer for anything relating to srtTrail is a fresh install.

If you were keeping files/settings, you might be able to rescue files via:
boot from installer
on screen after languages, choose repair this pc, not install.
choose troubleshoot
choose advanced
choose command prompt
type notepad and press enter
in notepad, select file>open
Use file explorer to copy any files you need to save to USB or hdd

otherwise I would do a clean install
change boot order in BIOS so USB is first, hdd...

follow this guide: http://www.tenforums.com/tutorials/1950-windows-10-clean-install.html
when you reach the screen asking for licence, click "I don't have a key" and win 10 will continue to install and reactivate once finished
