What's the difference between resetting a PC with the built in Windows 10 Reset Tool.

And resetting a PC with a USB Media Creation Tool?

One of the methods is so much faster and it made me wonder that they can't possible be the same.
Am I wrong here?

Solution
Reset = deletes partition C is on
2 options, keep files/settings or wipe C and start fresh.
Factory Reset wipes entire drive

They are two forms of reset. One just goes slightly further

Honestly, if you going to do either (unless you keeping files/settings) I would just clean install. Safer as I seen resets fail.

They should be the same

Which do you find is faster?

reset via USB just uses Advanced startup menus, you can access them via settings/update & security/recovery
Reset in windows is just another way into same process.

I find the USB way being much faster. Roughly takes 10min - 15min to finish installing and boot up Windows. Whereas Factory Resetting a PC that's been used for a couple of months can take hours on end.
