Hey all,

I recently upgraded my Windows 10 Technical Preview from build 10162 to build 10240. On build 10162 everything worked flawlessly, however once I upgraded to build 10240 that wasn't the case any more. Most things seem to work, apart from Cortana and the Search feature of the OS. The search bar does nothing when clicked, and when I activate Cortana it doesn't open. It seems Microsoft isn't aware of this issue, as the recent hot-fixes did nothing for me. It's really quite annoying to be honest. Any help would be greatly appreciated

Specs:
CPU: A10-5800K
RAM: 14GB DDR3
GPU: HD 5870
Mobo: A88XM-A

Solution
Rolling back to build 10130 helped me and the search feature works again. I dealed with the same problem - nothing connected with search had worked properly (magnifier glass, win+s, typing keys when start menu on screen).

No, I haven't as that'd be a huge inconvenience on my part. Is it in any way possible to re-install the patch again?

CCleaner must of wiped my Windows.old files, because it says the files were deleted... No clue what to do now.
I suppose I'll have to double check CCleaner in the future...

Windows.old generally deletes itself after 30 days.
And I'm not sure subsequent builds of Win 10 TP generate that windows.old.

I just tried configuring the 'Cortana and Search' section in the settings app, however it crashed when it opened. It seems the problem has to directly relate to Cortana or something along the lines of that.

just had a look and yes it seems to have made a windows.old folder with the date when i installed this build of 10
