Windows 10 security activated/un-activated?

Hi guys!

I have a quick and probably simple answer question..

I just built a new gaming computer for myself and decided to go with Windows 10 Pro x64 instead of Windows 7. I downloaded a copy of Windows 10 from Microsoft, mounted, and burned the ISO onto a disc no more than 2 weeks ago. (I'm assuming they update their digital copy of Windows online). I installed Windows, activated, and updated. Within the past few days, the motherboard went bad and I wound up just throwing in a different motherboard with a different CPU. Same RAM, video card, and hard drives. I was going to reinstall 10, but wound up booting right in Windows 10 and straight to the desktop with no issues. Only issue however, was that Windows was no longer activated due to hardware changes. I finally got it to activate today. So...

My question is this: If Windows 10 Pro x64 is unactivated, will Microsoft Edge or any other programs security be disabled or not actively protecting me? I checked update history, and previous updates were still installed (only a handful). I only worry a bit because, I logged into my Facebook, bank account, etc. in the time Windows was not activated. I do have a AV installed as well.

Thank you for any replies and

UnActivated windows generally doesn't do much besides restrict you from doing things like personalizing your PC. And putting an annoying watermark.

Was joking but removed the comment.

probably the best thing to do

i just pointed it out as sooner or later an admin/moderator would have done so

Initially, did you purchase and install this Win 10 Pro?
And then it is unactivated upon seeing the new motherboard?

Yes, that is what happens.

Call Microsoft. They will almost certainly get you back activated. They are very lenient with an actual broken and replaced motherboard.

After that, read and do this:

Yes, I have a genuine COA product key. It's like you said, the motherboard tripped the activation. I did call and get this resolved, no issue! I was just concerned with security and if I was a risk in anyway shape or form? Thanks for reply.

Currently, an unactivated Win 10 is at no more risk than a fully activated one.
