I have a Skylake based system running Windows 10 on a Samsung Evo-whatsis M.2 SSD - thats fine, Samsung Magician (v4.9.6) has it in it's list of drives. I have a couple of external USB3 HDD that SM also lists. I have a Samsung EVO 840 500Gb SSD spare which has my old Windows 7 system on. I am connecting it via a UGreen USB3 to IDE/SATA adaptor which is powered by a separate wall-wart - the adaptor works fine as far as I can tell because I've wiped a whole bunch of ancient IDE HDD for dumping. The SSD is seen by Windows 10 fine and I can access everything on it, but SM does not list it - so I can't 'wipe' it :??:

OK, I updated SM to 4.9.7 - now the external SSD is seen by SM (or at least is listed) - but SM does not see it as an SSD. If I select it on the Disk Drive tab, the System Information blocks below show N/A. If I then do Secure Erase, it selects the C drive SSD rather then the one I selected (me beats hasty retreat :))
