Windows 10 Setup searching for updates taking forever...

Just checking if this is normal for inwdows to take this long to search for updates... almost been 12 hours... anyway around this? I dont have a cd drive so i cant use an iso.

No, that's not normal.
I would disconnect from the internet before you begin the installation OR you may be able to skip the updates for now...

This is an upgrade from 7 to 10 so i cant skip it...

oh you allowed it to "check for updates" on the upgrade? Nothing has been changed yet then if its still stuck scanning for updates, it does that before it actually upgrades the system. Abort the whole thing, download the latest ISO using the media creation tool (you just need a USB stick) and start over.

Windows Setup isnt detecting my USB for some reason, meanwhile I can clearly see it in my computer.

Some computers have a hard time booting from USB...
I would do what he said but use the media creation tool to burn a DVD.
