Question Windows 10 Shared Printers

I run windows 10 on a two Dell computer network. I have a Canon MP610 printer attached via usb to one computer, have shared the printer and found and assigned the printer to the second computer. Everything was working well until recently.

I suspect that a windows 10 update broke this arrangement. The printer is now listed as an "unspecified device" on the computer that it's attached and will print. The other computer still thinks it has an assigned MP610 Printer which is ready to print. But when a print job is sent to the shared printer, nothing prints. I think the printer isn't attached to anything.

I'm looking for a quick fix rather than deleting everything and starting from scratch. Any ideas on where to look or what to do will be appreciated.

How does I share this device? I have network sharing turned on but don't seem to be able to share the printer device nor is it visible from the other computer on the network.
